Twirling Flamenco Dancer-Small
Leo Mason
The most abstract of all his work on ballet dancers, this riot of blues slowly enveils itself to reveal a whirling flamenco dancer at the height of her powers. Captured as if a painting, the long-exposure reduces the image to an abstract expressionist composition. While Mason does not capture the scene in all it's detail, he evokes the feelings, emotions and ambience of the dance, as if the viewer and dancer were lost in thought. Mason is an award-winning photographer who focuses on capturing that 'decisive moment'.
