This digitally remastered image evokes a sense of continued movement and narrative as the dancer becomes smaller and smaller. A riot of colours- reds, yelllows, purples and greens, it reflects the vibrancy of contemporary African dance. Eric specialises in dance and performing arts photography. His work is held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Musee des Beaux-Arts de Montreal.

Eric Richmond

Eric Richmond has lived and worked in London for nearly 30 years.

Raised in Rome by an opera singer father, and an artist mother, he has travelled the globe photographing performing artists in places as diverse as India, Argentina, and S. Africa.

Eric trained at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, and assisted a variety of photographers both in Los Angeles and New York City. Beginning his career in Milan, he moved to London in 1984; since then he has worked for many publications, record companies, dance companies , theatre companies and performance venues, producing an array of material to promote their productions. A 20 foot print of one of Eric’s photos for the Royal Ballet was hung on the Royal Opera House after its refurbishment to announce its re-opening.

Eric’s work is held in the permanent collections of:
Musee Des Arts Decoratifs Paris
Musee des Beaux Arts Montreal
