This forty-two metre classic twin-masted schooner, Mariette, was originally built by Herreshoff in the USA in 1915. A prize-winning boat, it still competes at many races. With its sales billowing majestically, this stunning black and white shot captures her in all her majesty. Leaning to one side as she turns, Mason takes in her full length, with all those dangling their legs down the side. It a idyllic image that sums up the man's mastery of the waves.
