leaving the past-Small
Matthias Haker
Masterfully controlling the depth of field between the abstract and abandoned foreground and stunningly intact background, Haker presents an image that almost bridges time. The past and present lives of the building are alluded to simultaneously in this photograph. Matthias is a self taught photographer who specialises in shooting abandoned buildings, but just don't ask him where they are. "I do love abandoned buildings, I see so much beauty in those places, but there are too many idiots out there that don't behave like me. I've seen so much vandalism, theft and other bad things happening to those buildings, that I will do all I can to protect these beauties. Therefore I don't give any information about the location, not even the country...since every little piece of information makes it easier for people to find them. No exceptions."
