Haker's 'Countless Dreams' depicts an oddly tidly made bed set within an abandoned, derelict bedroom. Instantly, the viewer is asked to question why the home was left abandoned? And why it was left with such a sense of pride? Haker's narrative eye points us to curious stories untold. Warm light floods the room picking up its exquisite textures and colours: aqua blues, burnt oranges and ivy greens. Religious figures stand strong, as if resisting the passage of time.Matthias is a self taught photographer who specialises in shooting abandoned buildings, but just don't ask him where they are. "I do love abandoned buildings, I see so much beauty in those places, but there are too many idiots out there that don't behave like me. I've seen so much vandalism, theft and other bad things happening to those buildings, that I will do all I can to protect these beauties. Therefore I don't give any information about the location, not even the country...since every little piece of information makes it easier for people to find them. No exceptions."
Matthias has been working as a professional freelance and fine art photographer since 2012.
He specializes in architectural, landscape and urban topics as well as the photography of decaying buildings. Matthias' images have appeared in various magazines around the world and have been shown in exhibitions in London, Berlin and Paris.
