First drawn for his celebrated book of illustration, The Weather Works, this wonderful image asks what it would look like if humans controlled the weather. In Cloud Banks, Mike repurposes the orginal Crystal Palace and turns it into a cloud factory. Here, Mike builds a virtual world our of sheer creativity. Small white clothed men haul clouds down into cloud vitrines, taking orders from a cloud controller above. There are trains, onlookers, statues even ornately concieved weather apparatus. Its a fantastical, surreal image of the weather from one of Britain's most creative illustrators.
